Dogs With Jobs: Corgis are Small Dogs With Big Jobs!
One of our favorites of late has been the segment we like to call Dogs With Jobs! In this post we’re looking at adorable corgi puppies! As one of the smallest herding animals in the world, you may be wondering why breeders would choose such a stubby, little breed to do such dangerous work. Well, there’s a few key reasons corgis make ideal herding animals:
Firstly, corgis are one of the most intelligent domesticated dog breeds in the world, which makes them quick to learn and creative in their work. In addition, their small stature and small sturdy legs actually are a great advantage in herding – you see, corgis are so low to the ground, that the dangerous kicks of cattle and other herd animals generally pass right over a corgi’s head. Their sweet temprement and small size has also made these adorable dogs a favorite pet for people the world over – including the Queen of England – Elizabeth II, who owns sixteen corgis! As usual with these segments, we not only present pictures of grown working dogs, but include a gallery with a good mix of working dogs and cute little puppies!
