Ocelots: Cute Wild Cats
Appearance wise, an ocelot is a mixture of leopard and a house cat, making it one of the cutest feline species in the world. These small wild cats can be found in Bolivia, Mexico, Arizone (United States), Ecuador, Argetina, Columbia, Paraguay, Venezuela, Guyana, Trinidad, Texas (United States) and The Amazon. The ocelot is commonly born alone (with litters of 2 or 3 occuring occasionally) after around 80 days of gestation, and doesn’t open its eyes until it’s at least 2 weeks old; it actually devolps slower than the common house-cat. When it a becomes a full grown adult, the ocelot can have a length of up to 39 inches (100 centimeters), and a weight of up to 40 pounds (18 kilograms). Ocelots are known to be nocturnal creatures that can climb trees to hunt, and unlike most other cats, they’re great swimmers and tend to enjoy itas an activity. Although they are a wild animal, ocelots are sometimes kept as pets; most notably by painter Salvador Dali, who took his pet ocelot on the road with him for years.
