Annie the Recovering Kitten
When tiny kitten Annie was adopted by loving parents, she was everything new pet-owners could possibly want in an adorable baby kitten! Friendly, sweet, curious and a little goofy. Unfortunately for Annie and her owners, little Annie had a birth defect called pectus excavatum, which is when the chest cavity is caved inwards at birth. Of course little Annie is on the mend, so luckily this scary sounding medical problem didn’t take this cute kitten from her new mom and dad. In fact, the ribs of a cute baby cat are pliable and can be easily reformed with a routine medical procedure involving stitches to the sternum. Allowing the chest cavity to open up in this way is a process, and to prevent little Annie from hurting herself, she has to wear an adorable little pink body cast while she waits to heal. We knew the kitten lovers would come out of the woodwork for this one, and since we’ve only got the one cute picture of Annie, we threw together a few of our favorite cute kitten pictures, just for you, because we all know there are never enough and we pledge to seek out and publish all the kittens at home and abroad!
