New Baby Puma Born in Berlin Zoo
Puma isn’t just the name of a famous sportswear company, in fact pumas are a genus of big cats – other names you may know the puma by are “mountain lion” “mountain cat” “panther” and “cougar”. These are all actually the same animal – the species Puma concolor. These big cats live in the western hemisphere, as far north as the southern tips of the Alaskan archipelago to the very southern tip of South America.
Last month, the Berlin Zoo introduced one of the cutest baby puma cubs we’ve ever seen (pictured above) which spurred us to collect some of our favorite pictures of cute baby cougars and mountain lions for your enjoyment. Even though when fully grown, these big cats are one of the top predators in the western hemisphere, when they’re babies they’re still as adorable as any kitten you’ve ever seen! Don’t you want to just give one a squeeze?
