Check Out This Dog’s Miraculous Survival!
Sometimes miracles happen folks, and sometimes they’re adorable miracles. Sammie the Bernese Mountain Dog was off her leash taking a drink of water from a stream recently, when the currents, accelerated by recent rains, carried her away. Her owners obviously freaked out and immediately called the police as poor Sammie was sent over a thousand feet away inside a drainage pipe, popping out on the other end…alive and well! Well, pretty much well; she had some cuts and some paw damage, but nothing that some antibiotics, some treats, and some good belly rubs won’t fix. She was found and rescued by authorities who had immediately started searching every drainage outlet in the area after her initial disappearance. Now she’s home with her family recuperating and loving her life, probably unaware of how close she came to not being around anymore. Bernese mountain dogs are a large breed (Sammie is over one hundred pounds) that originated in the Swiss Alps and is considered a “working dog”. Working dogs are those who were originally bred to work farms and pull carts. Now they’re kept as pets, and make adorable puppies. Check out some pictures of them below, as well as a photo of the group of brave rescue workers who saved Sammie!
