Endangered Siamese Crocodiles Hatched
A clutch of 20 endangered Siamese crocodiles has been hatched in Laos. Habitat loss and hunting has severely reduced the numbers of these smallish crocs and there are only an estimated 250 left in the wild. Hopefully, this group of youngsters will boost the wild population but they won’t be release until they are two years old. That will give them a better chance of surviving the dog-eat-dog world out there. The crocs will grow up to 10 ft (3 m) in length and eat snakes and fish. These Southeast Asian crocodiles are not known to attack humans.
