Little Blue Penguins
You may have seen our baby penguins article, not too long ago – well, as you may know, there are many different species of penguin that live in the wild. What you may not know is that one such species doesn’t live anywhere near the frozen arctic ice like you may be picturing. In fact, the world’s smallest species of penguin – the “Little Blue Penguin” lives exclusively on the balmy southernmost beaches of Australia and New Zealand. Just like the penguins you’re used to seeing, these little critters are small flightless birds who spend most of their time flopping into the water with their awkward little feet, then shooting gracefully through the water, hunting for small fish to eat.
Unlike some other species of penguin, these guys have a beautiful blue coat which makes them look very distinct, and also very cute! A popular zoo attraction in the countries they call home, Little Blue Penguins have some of the cutest babies in the world, just check out these great snapshots.
