More Red Pandas in the USA
A pair of red pandas at the Oklahoma City zoo has given birth to triplets cubs. This makes 10 red pandas born at the zoo which is great because they are an endangered species. Born in late June these triplets are already out and about.
The pandas are born blind with brown gray colored fur. Their fur begins to change to red after about 90 days. The cubs weigh about a quarter of a pound (100 g) at birth but they will grow to weigh up to 20 pounds as adults. Their long bushy tail can be 2/3 their body’s length.
Those claws are semi retractable and they have thick pads on their feet for the cold snowy weather in the Himalayas.
