The Siamese Cat is a famous breed of adorable, exotic and fuzzy pets originally from Siam (now Thailand). While these slender, angular cats can look stand-offish or aloof, they are actually highly intelligent and very affectionate, which is part of the reason that during the mid-twentieth century, these cute kittens became one of the most popular domesticated breeds in the United States. Siamese cats live upwards of 10 years, and a small genetic mutation associated with albinism is what gives such a large percentage of Siamese cats the beautiful blue coloring of the eyes.
