The Baby Carrot-Tail Viper: The Cutest Gecko!
We had no idea that geckos could be this cute! Born much smaller than even a standard quarter (as you can see), these baby Carrot-tail Viper Geckos are easily the cutest and tiniest reptiles we’ve ever seen! They won’t get much bigger either, as even adults only grow to about three and a half inches long. These adorable creatures get their names from their tails, which resemble plumped up carrots; they use them to store emergency fat in case of famine. Born in clutches of two to mothers who lay fifteen to twenty clutches a season, these little guys and girls survive primarily off of insects, and don’t need to eat nearly as often as human babies do. Also, they apparently like to sit atop to heads of leopard geckos, at least that’s what one of the pictures below implies. They probably do it to feel taller. Anyway, if you’re in Pakistan or India, you can most likely keep one of these creatures as a pet, because there’s a huge abundance of them, but don’t bring it over to the states, because most parts of North America aren’t suitable for them and they’d mess up the ecosystem. So for now, unless you’re planning a trip or live overseas, enjoy some pictures of the Carrot-tail Viper as an adorable baby.
