Your Favorite Bright Orange Little Monkey
The golden lion tamarin aka the lion monkey is a little fireball of monkey fun. They are always active and talking just like a little red-headed stepchild. You notice they always seem to cling to one of the parents. Well, that is the safest place to be for little monkeys. Otherwise, hawks or who knows what might snatch them out of the forest canopy in their home forest region in Brazil. Both parents will do their duty to carry around the young ones (usually a pair, sometimes one or even three). After six months though, the young are already old enough to explore on their own and grow a lion’s gold mane of their own.
