Baby Rams are Lambs Too!
You may have seen one of our earlier posts on the petting zoo and farm favorite: baby lambs! If you’re like a lot of baby animal fans, however – you may not know that the stocky and fuzzy Ovids at the petting zoo with big curved horns – called Rams are not in fact a different species, but rather the same as sheep. Lambs are baby sheep and rams, sheep are females and rams are male. Even though they have very different behavior as adults, as babies they are all totally cute.
Of course, when they are young, baby rams don’t have their big signature horns yet, though if you look closely in some of these baby lamb pictures, you might just see the earliest beginnings of tiny horns poking through the fluffy wool that grows on a baby lamb’s head. Alright then, rams, lambs and sheep are the same!
